To Sleep, Perchance to Dream

March 8, 2014 @ No Comments

The great thing about going to sleep early is getting some sleep. The bad thing is that it can throw your schedule off. And so it is that it’s very early Saturday (some time after 4 a.m.) and here I am trying to provide a modicum of creativity type.

Former tennis ace Anna Kournikova always is welcome here.

I suppose I could be writing about the Chicago Bulls losing at home to the Memphis Grizzlies. Or provide speculation on what the Chicago Bears are doing with various signings and/or departures of players. Or the incredible — or at least promising — performances by Cubs and/or White Sox players. Or some other subject of interest.

Or I could stay up late trying to figure out whether the time change Sunday will have any effect on your humble correspondent. Of course, it will. It will leave me more tired than usual. Spring forward, fall back. Whatever. Regardless, I always feel as if I’m losing an hour’s sleep — if not more. Who cares? Probably only a limited number of people on the planet or elsewhere.

But by providing a modicum — at best — of creativity typing all this, there is sufficient text for running a photo alongside. Which is a reason some people visit this site.

In a former life as a sports columnist at the Chicago Sun-Times, I operated on the premise that the less I wrote and the more room for non-gratuitous photos of folks such as Anna Kournikova (among numerous others) the more likely it was that readers/gawkers would pause to view my page. Seems reasonable, no?

Anyway, it’s about time to catch up on some sleep. But only after finding a suitable photo to accompany this.

Here is where to go for a daily dose of non-gratuitous video (thanks to the efforts of the editorial and video departments at ElliottHarris.com):
