Super Bowl Gambling? You Can Bet on It

February 3, 2013 @ No Comments

The odds are — if you’re going to a Super Bowl gathering Sunday (and quite possibly even if you aren’t) — you will have some sort of betting interest in the 47th contest that sports Roman numerals. Speaking of odds (gee, what a coincidence), here are some from the fine folks at Bodogc(www.Bodog.ca). But before that, here is an observation from Kevin Bradley, Sports Book Manager at Bovada.lv:

Former Playboy Playmate Brande Roderick appears to be a 49ers fan.

“Bets have steadily been coming in on the Super Bowl props, but two really stand out right now. The National Anthem length has been far more difficult to handicap this year than previous years with Alicia Keys saying she is singing her own version. Therefore, we went a little high at 2:15, but with two thirds of the money on the under I dropped it to 2:10 and now we’re seeing money on both sides. The MVP odds are always really popular, Patrick Willis has seen a lot of interest dropping him from 66-1 to 40-1, even Alex Smith at 100-1 took so much action I had to drop him to 75-1. From a volume perspective, both quarterbacks are leading the way in bets.”

And a reminder these odds are for purely entertainment purposes. And another reminder: Never bet more than you can afford to lose.

From the always entertaining Zay Smith in his QT column at Beachwoodreporter.com. OK, not always. Merely on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays when his wit, wisdom and insight run:

Super Bowl XLVII Final Countdown Update:
+ XXVII percent of Americans plan to be on Facebook during the game.
+ XXVII percent of Americans believe God will determine the game’s outcome.
These are not necessarily the same Americans.

One of the favorite Super Bowl television commercials last year featured Catrinel Menghia. And she’s back for Sunday’s game, although with slightly less attire than in 2012:

And another commercial you will see Sunday (unless you’re not watching when it runs):

Some exercise video (also suitable for those who don’t get off the couch and merely watch):
