Luvabulls Auditions a Moving Experience

August 11, 2013 @ No Comments

Aspiring Chicago Luvabulls tried to put their best foot (feet, actually) forward Saturday (Aug. 10) at the dance team’s audition at the United Center. To reach Sunday’s callback — which will include the returning veterans (those who want another season of providing entertainment at Bulls home games) participating — the dancers had to step up their game.

Shante Roberts provided the dance directions, as she and Kafi Thompson (co-captain last season) demonstrated the moves to replicate and impress the judges.

It was an incredibly exhausting process. You have no idea how tiring watching all that can be. Thank goodness there was an abundance of empty seats to use whenever necessary.

Oh, and the dancers probably were pretty tired, too.

I have said it before and I will say it again: I admire each and every person who tried out for the squad. They are all winners, as far as I’m concerned. Rejection is part of the process. Last time I checked, no one likes to be rejected. But the key is the trying.

Speaking of trying, I will try to keep the verbiage to a minimum so you might be able to enjoy some video from the auditions. If things go as planned (and occasionally they actually do around here), there will be additional audition video in the next few days.

Kafi Thompson, a Luvabulls co-captain last season, served to demonstrate dance moves at the squad’s annual audition Saturday at the United Center.

Krisin DeCesare and her pooch Madison were at the Chicago Luvabulls auditions Saturday.

Yes, even with a busy afternoon of Luvabulls auditions, the editorial and video departments around here still made time to make this section the place to go for non-gratuitous video. Of course, their standards for “gratuitous” may differ from most folks. Not that that’s a bad thing or anything.
