For Derrick Rose, If the Shoe Fits …

January 19, 2012 @ No Comments

Derrick Rose is having a little trouble these days putting his best foot forward. A toe injury has sidelined the Chicago Bulls guard and reigning NBA Most Valuable Player. For those who would like to see a little of Rose in action rather than more Rose inaction, there is good news:

He has a new adidas sneaker coming out — the adizero Rose 2.5 signature shoe. It will be available in stores in less than two weeks. Until then, there is some Rose video promoting the shoe. Which certainly for Bulls fans isn’t quite as good as actually being healthy enough to play. If it’s any consolation to Bullophiles, the team likely will survive short-term with Rose recuperating.

More information about the adizero Rose 2.5 — which retails for $110 and will be available Feb. 2 at Foot Locker, Eastbay and www.shopadidas.com — you can go to Facebook at adidasBasketball.

Nadia Larysa and the Chicago Bliss face a challenge in trying to reach the Lingerie Football League postseason.

In keeping with the theme of scantilly clad females (thanks to the video above for providing that), we can turn our attention to the Lingerie Football League, where the Chicago Bliss has a Thursday night encounter (9 o”clock Pacific time) against the Los Angeles Temptation. THe game will be played at Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario, Calif. If the LFL expertise department at elliottharris.com has this right (and that’s always a big “if”), the Bliss (1-2) can make the playoffs by winning — with a victory margin of 50 points. And if fans in the Midwest think the game will have a late start (11 p.m. Chicago time certainly qualifies in that regard), some folks on the West Coast think the same thing. Not sure a Thursday 9 p.m. is the best way for a league that has trouble filling the stands to schedule things. But that’s somebody else’s call.

On the bright side, Bliss player and good friend Nadia Larysa is making the trip. Maybe she will stop by the Playboy Mansion and renew acquaintances with Hugh Hefner, whom she met when she was part of an LFL pictorial that ran in Playboy.
