The hard-working staff at elliottharris.com will be posting Jaime Edmondson’s picks (hopefully before Sunday’s kickoffs), and you can be certain Jaime will pick her beloved Dolphins for whom she once was a cheerleader. And no doubt one of these weeks Jaime will be on the winning end of a Miami upset. For those unfamiliar with Jamie, she is the redhead. For those who are color blind, she is in the photograph just above these words.

Working in another personal favorite of your humble correspondent, here is something to brighten up the day for St. Pauli Girl Jennifer England in the aftermath of Michigan’s loss Saturday to Michigan State. Her favorite NFL team, the Detroit Lions, could duplicate history that has not been accomplished since 1934. The only problem involves the Lions remaining unbeaten — along with NFC North division rival Green Bay.

If the Lions and Packers both win Sunday and remain the last unbeatens in the league, it would mark the second time since the divisional structure began in 1933 that two teams in the same division started 6-0. THe LIons also were involved the first time. In 1934 the Lions and Bears each started 10-0 in the Western Division. The Bears finished the season 13-0, while the Lions ended up 10-3. IN the NFL title game, the Bears lost to the New York Giants 30-13.
