Celestial Bodies: Arianny and Otherwise

December 18, 2011 @ No Comments

It seems like only yesterday that Arianny Celeste was in Chicago for an appearance with fellow Octagon Girl Rachelle Leah. Maybe the day before. Actually, it was in January. It was cold, and the prospect of seeing a couple of UFC stars seemed a reasonably good idea.

Octagon Girl Arianny Celeste looks good from any angle.

And so, your humble correspondent had the pleasure of going to Bull & Bear that night to interview the lovely ladies. They arrived later than anticipated and had other obligations before their brief chat downstairs. Was it worth the wait? Definitely. Does anyone care that the entire process took far longer than anticipated? Definitely not.

All that matters is being able to have some video to show for the effort. Speaking of video, the fine folks at TerezOwens.com have some featuring Arianny with pictures from her 2012 calendar. So, without any further verbiage, here we go:

Speaking of calendars, the days are winding down in the NFL season. It’s already Week 15, which means there are two more after that. Then the postseason. Or, for most teams, the offseason.

From the NFL department of information that you never knew you couldn’t live without:

* Five rookie quarterbacks have earned at least one victory as a starter this season: Cincinnati’s Andy Dalton (seven), Carolina’s Cam Newton (four), Jacksonville’s Blaine Gabbert (three), Houston’s T.J. Yates (two) and Minnesota’s Christian Ponder (one). Those 17 combined victories for rookie starting QBs are currently tied for the third most of any season since 1970. All five rookie QBs are expected to start in Week 15, including a match-up between Newton’s Panthers and Yates’ Texans. The most wins by rookie starting quarterbacks in a season since 1970:
2008: 22
2004: 18
2011: 17
2006: 17
1971: 16

* New Orleans tight end Jimmy Graham leads the NFC with 80 receptions, while Saints running back Darren Sproles is third in the conference with 74. With six catches by Sproles Sunday against Minnesota (or in the two games remaining after that in the regular season) Graham and Sproles would become the first TE-RB teammates in NFL history with at least 80 receptions apiece in the same season.

Because the NFL thinks it’s really a good idea to start playing games on Saturdays in December, Jaime Edmondon’s picks — as well as pics — tend to be more spread out than simply on Sunday. Not that anyone is complaining. Although you have to wonder how many people found a Dallas-Tampa Bay matchup compelling viewing. OK, other than Cowboys fans.

Anyway, heading into Sunday’s games, the Playboy Playmate is 2-0, thanks to picking Atlanta (Thursday) and Dallas (Saturday) to prevail.

Speaking of pigskin prognosticaions, former Chicago Bliss (Lingerie Football League) defensive back Danielle Moinet has her Week 15 NFL picks at turdfergonblog.com. For those in the audience with short attention span, here is the abbreviated version: New England over Denver, Detroit over Oakland, Chicago over Seattle, Baltimore over San Diego and San Francisco over Pittsburgh.

For those with slightly greater attention spans, here is Danielle’s assessment of the Bears-Seahawks game: Oh man do my Bears need this win. The playoff hopes are slim but we still have a pulse. Even though the Seahawks have won 3 of their last 4 and my Bears are the complete opposite in their last 4, but Im sticking to my guns!

In that we’ve already mentioned Jaime Edmondson and Cam Newton in today’s effort, it seems more than reasonable to provide some video that features the former Miami Dolphins cheerleader in the former Auburun QB’s football pants. Maybe it’s me, but Jaime sure seems to look better in them, even if the pants don’t quite fit perfectly.

And, yes, it should be noted, even if Cam Newton were not mentioned, there is a strong likelihood Jaime’s video still would have run. Justification is in the eye of the beholder. Or something like that.
