Bullish About Obama-Rose Matchup

January 10, 2012 @ No Comments

Chicago will meet Washington on Wednesday — in more ways than one. The winless Washington Wizards will battle the Chicago Bulls at the United Center. And President Barack Obama will be in Chicago for a fund-raiser. All of which raises the possibility of Obama showing up to root on his favorite NBA team (hint: It’s not the Wizards).

Obama spent part of Monday by honoring the the Dallas Mavericks as NBA champions in a ceremony at the White House.

Congratulations to Luvabull Ashley Bond for being No. 2 on Bleacher Report's list of hottest NBA dancers.

Said Obama at the ceremony, “I just want to give a heartfelt congratulations to all of you. I told them that it’s too bad that next year it will be the Chicago Bulls here, [laughter] — but they said I shouldn’t be so confident.”

After the Bulls dispatched the Detroit Pistons 92-68 at the United Center, media gathered around reigning MVP Derrick Rose in the locker room to discuss the contest, playing three games in three nights, a big night by Carlos Boozer, an off night by Joakim Noah, etc.

And last but not least was a query by your humble correspondent about Obama’s statement the Bulls would be visiting the White House as the next NBA champions.

“That’s my guy, man,” Rose said of Obama. “That’s my guy. If we make it to the Finals, he promised me that he’d be there. So I’m holding him to that promise.”

Rose just might see him sooner than that.

In other news with global implications, the lovely April Rose is increasing the frequency of her “Maximum Exposure” videos. She will be posting Monday-Thursday. Which should mean if the editorial staff at elliottharris.com remains diligent, there should be videos Tuesday-Friday.

Here is April’s Monday effort that includes mention of Bleacher Report’s listing of the hottest NBA cheerleaders. From a purely provincial perspective, Ashley Bond of the Chicago Luvabulls comes in at No. 2.

To read (OK, to look at) the hottest cheerleader on each NBA team, you can go to the story at bleacherreport.com.

Another of this site’s favorite females has a new video. Katarina Van Derham, the former St. Pauli Girl, has been kind enough to post something on YouTube. Consequently, the video department at elliottharris.com thought the least it could do is provide it for you (and rest assured you have not seen the last of Katarina around here):
